MVI Inc is proud to bring you our GM Factory DVD – Blu-Ray System upgrade for your 2014 – 2020 GM Truck or S.U.V. Our upgrade kit goes out completely plug and play; and pre-programmed for your specific vehicle.
The install will take like take less than an hour. There is quite a bit of programming involved on both the display screen and the HMI to make this upgrade happen the correct way, so please read below to decide the best option for you.
All of our systems come complete with everything you’ll need for your installation; including all harnessing, a BASIC set of instructions, installation videos (if available), and up to 15 minutes of technical support!

UPGRADE OPTIONS
Option 1 (Recommended):
MVI Inc will send you a New Display Screen and HMI, along with our custom built harnessing. This will cost a little more up front, however your truck would not be torn down and would remain drivable while the work is being done. This would arrive to you completely pre-programmed, plug and play; ready to go for your vehicle. We would require the old HMI and old CD player (if applicable) back as a core. NOTE: If you wanted to sell your old screen you could send it back, in addition to the required HMI and CD player, for a credit. We will inspect condition of the screen when it arrives to determine the exact refund amount. Refunds are typically $200 depending on the condition. Scratches on the touchscreen and worn buttons take away from the value and make it worth less money so only brand new appearing screens are suggested for return.
Option 2 (New Vehicles Only):
You pull the screen and HMI and ship them to us for the work and we would send them back along with our custom built harnessing, for a complete kit. This option will save you a little money upfront; however the vehicle Will NOT run without the HMI module installed in the vehicle. Going with this option will require that the vehicle be down for a few days while the work is done. Typical equipment turn around times is within 2 business days of receiving it (1-2 weeks additional time needed for optional custom software unlock).
OPTIONAL VIDEO IN MOTION UNLOCK
If you want the system to play in-motion; for passenger enjoyment, you’ll need to pick the unlock option as well. Please note that these services are discounted on this page for a bundled package and cost extra when purchased individually.
OPTIONAL SMART PHONE SCREEN MIRRORING KIT
Selecting the Smartphone Mirroring Option will add an HDMI Port to the GM Factory DVD – Blu-Ray System Upgrade. This is an HDMI port, so any HDMI source like Roku or Firestick will work. However the benifit of smartphone mirroring is that you can now utilize any video apps from the phone (such as Netflix and YouTube), that allows the sharing function from the phone. This option is phone dependent, in that the phone needs to be compatible (Please read disclosures below)

requirements
- One to two week order processing timeline as these system are custom built for your vehicle.
- Core parts will be required back after the install is complete unless going with option 1 listed above. If going with option 2 listed above, MVI Inc will require a core form to be on file before any parts will ship.
- Professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with automotive electronics and installations. We do provide up to 15 minutes of BASIC installation support for customers that prefer to do the install on their own, for trouble shooting purposes ONLY. Apple users in general do not need to worry about this feature working. However, in the past, we did experience an Apple Update that took away this feature from the phone. It was quickly resolved within a couple weeks by a new update that corrected the issue. Just be aware that an update from Apple could remove the mirroring ability from the phone, but that has not been seen since the update to iOS12.
Android users need to verify the phone has a Mirrorcast or Screen Cast Feature. You’ll need to verify your phone is capable of doing this feature on your TV inside the home. If your phone requires a Chrome Cast to perform the mirroring, then you may require the Chrome Cast in the truck, which requires WiFi. MVI does not provide the Chrome Cast dongle, we supply a dongle that works off of Bluetooth and works with most phones. However, we have seen some phones that are not compatible. Please contact MVI for more information on this.
