Enjoy your ride with Ram 1500 UConnect’s Massive 12 inch Touchscreen
Dodge Ram 1500 has many things you’d typically expect from a truck: vast towing capacity, a bountiful maximum payload, and loads of horsepower. However, you wouldn’t expect this massive 12 inch touchscreen display in the dashboard that even supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While some are enamored at how on earth we can use such a large screen display while driving, we cannot deny that this can help us while on the road, especially if we would like to do multi-tasks.
Chrysler is powering the new Ram’s computer sized touchscreen with the fourth generation of the company’s own infotainment software called UConnect. Here are some of the benefits you can have on how to make use of your 12 inch touchscreen:
1) Menus Are Easy to Read and Navigate
In the menus, a persistent row of icons at the bottom of the screen allows quick access to things like satellite radio, climate, and seat temperature controls, and navigation. A home button in the top left corner also makes it easy to always return to the starting point.
2) Split-Screen Between Two Apps at a Time
What’s nice with UConnect on this massive display is that you can split the screen into two. You can run the SiriusXM in one half while Ram’s navigation in the other. The new Ram 1500 supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, although they can only run in a split-screen mode. Now, you can run CarPlay or Android Auto while having radio controls in the other half of your screen!
You can connect your phone to this massive screen through a wireless connection or via cable in order to use the Apple Carplay and Android Auto features. There are USB-A and USB-C ports ready for another level of experience with Ram 1500!
Since the 12 inch screen is easy to navigate, you can also expect to easily reach the prominently placed radio preset buttons. Those are in the full screen media layout (and you can also see that UConnect utilized the full color logos of satellite radio stations, too!)
How to Use the Split-Screen Mode?
Changing your full screen mode into split-screen mode is easy.
- First, tap HOME
- CHOOSE the features you want
- To SWAP cards, tap the ARROW.
- Tap the X to change your selection.
- Tap HOME to go back to full screen mode.
