Wireless phone chargers operate based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Here’s a simplified explanation of the process:
Magnetic Field Generation:
The wireless charger contains a coil that is connected to a power source. When electricity flows through this coil, it generates a magnetic field around it.
Reception on the Phone:
Inside your phone, there is another coil. When you place your phone on the wireless charger, the magnetic field from the charger induces a current in the coil of your phone through electromagnetic induction.
Conversion to Electrical Energy:
The induced current in the phone’s coil is converted back into electrical energy, which is then used to charge the phone’s battery.
Alignment and Efficiency:
Proper alignment between the coils is crucial for efficient charging. Many wireless chargers have multiple coils or special mechanisms to ensure optimal alignment and charging efficiency.
Qi Wireless Charging Standard:
The widely adopted Qi wireless charging standard ensures compatibility between devices and chargers, allowing devices from different manufacturers to work seamlessly with Qi-compatible chargers.
This wireless charging technology eliminates the need for physical connectors and cables, providing a convenient and cable-free method to recharge your phone.
Wireless phone chargers have been a popular add on to new vehicle models. In fact, some newer models has already wireless chargers built in. You can also choose to add wireless phone charging kit to your current vehicle. MVI is now offering upgrade kits for 2019 and up Toyota models. See video below for the quick install of the said kit.
